Harleyville, South Carolina

17 June 2006 - We took a trip to Harleyville to see if we could get one of their signs. They had so many thefts of the town limit signs that they started to sell them. The proceeds go into the local community center and park. We were told we could get one at the local Ace Hardware. When we asked about the signs, they made a phone call and told us someone was bringing them to us. It wasn't until a little later that we learned they had call the mayor, Charles Ackerman, and he was the one bringing them by. Needless to say we were shocked, but not surprised. After being in the town for only a few minutes, you will find a very hospitable community.
