Pisa

I was reassigned to Larissa, Greece for 2 years. Synthia wanted to see more of Italy before we left. Normally I would have had 6-9 months notice, but this time I only had one month tp prepare. So we spent three of our last four weekends traveling. The first weekend, Nov. 9th, we went to Venice for the day and then stayed the night in Mestre. The next morning we drove to Pisa. Once we arrived in Pisa we headed straight to the Piazza dei Maracoli

The Baptistery (construction began in 1153)

The Cathedral and La Torre (Leaning Tower of Pisa). The cathedral's construction began in 1003.

The leaning tower of Pisa's construction began in 1173.

The 18th century Fountain of Giuseppe Vacca, with 3 cupids supporting the coat of arms of Pisa.

Just a regular picture. All up and down the court yard people we taking various types of pictures to make it look like they were keeping the tower from falling or holding it in one hand. Me, I wanted to make it look like I was pushing it over but decided against it. (the colors of the tower and top of the cathedral were from the setting sun).
