If Jesus Came To Visit Me

If Jesus Christ came to visit my home,

Beautifully decorated and with everything in place,

Would He like what He did see,

Or would tears of sorrow fall from His face?

If He decided to visit my friends,

And hear what we had to say,

Would He silently depart from us,

Or would He want to stay?

If Jesus then read my books,

From front unto the back,

Would He say they were very good,

Or would He say they lacked?

If then He decided to sit down awhile

And listen to the music I collect,

Would His Spirit then rejoice,

Or suffer from my neglect?

If Jesus decided to tour the place,

Where I daily go to work,

Would He be please with the Spirit there,

Or find evil ones there lurk?

If Jesus came to visit me,

And I had no time to rearrange,

Would He say "Well done, my child."

Or would He want me to change?

Well, Jesus does visit me,

Each and every day.

He see what I watch and read,

What I do and what I say.

I may not always be aware,

That He is by my side,

But He will never leave His child,

Nor will my Holy Spirit Guide.

So if I want to please my Lord,

I should act the way,

That I would act if I knew,

That He would visit me today.
