Trust Comes Only In The Night

It is so easy to trust God

When the day is bright and beautiful

And when you can see everything ahead of you.

You can walk easily.

See all the obstacles before you.

Know what the future holds.

It is much more difficult to trust Him

In the long, dark night.

When it is so dark that there are no shadows.

You trip over the smallest things

Because you cannot see them.

You do not know what the next step means.

But trust does not happen in the daylight of our lives.

It happens in the deepest, darkest nights.

When fear threatens to overwhelm us.

This is the only time that true trust can emerge.
