Standing On The Rock

I was standing on the rock

One cool and windy day

I heard a noise that clatters

A storm was coming my way

The wind started blowing

The trees began to sway

The waves in the water

Were going every which way

They hit against the rock

While I was standing there

Splashing and climbing around me

As the rain fell from the air

Standing on the rock

I was alone and cold

Looking up to heaven

Having no place to go

The Lord is my strength

I started to pray

The Lord will give me courage

Against the storm this day

I will resist the devil

When the thunder rolls

For the Lord is with me

He will comfort my soul

The light shined from heaven

The warmth of the sun found me

As I stood up on my feet

And saw what was around me

The sky was clear and blue

The water was tame and calm

The trees were resting from swaying

The Lord had kept me from harm
